A series of photographic artworks exploring the birth of a mother

Becoming a first time mother, I experienced the normal hardships of early motherhood while battling severe post natal depression (PND). With that, I learned the true importance of returning to the wild, spending time alone in nature so that I can return home to hold space for my child and partner. Because parenting is relentless. And returning to the wild is soul balm. This exhibition is a culmination of one year’s exploration, and forms the backbone of my recovery, led by the creative process, elemental nature and personal growth as a mother, partner, woman and sister.

The opening night

The opening night could not have been possible without Allpress Studio providing the beautiful space and Deep Creek Brewing Co with the brews.

With thanks to Skar Image Lab, Frames NZ, Allpress Studio, Taylor Cove Collect, Joss & Brodie (for providing the wine) and BodyFX. Without the generosity of these people and services, I would not have been able to pull this event and exhibition together.
